Abstract

Effective communication involves much more than just a good command of the foreign language itself. Can we prepare our students for the challenges of “real-life” communication and empower them to become good communicators? This article offers the rationale behind the claim, as well as some practical activities that can be used in the FL classroom to improve our learners’ interpersonal skills in the foreign language through providing them with opportunities for communicative practice, awareness-raising and group reflection.
