Abstract
The paper briefly discusses whether the concept of the new framework of EU Common trade policy is rather liberalizing or implicitly protectionist. Without claiming to give specific answers the paper raises some questions regarding the process of EU trade policy development, the scope of new trade agreements, the relations between Global North and Global South and who gains most of the new EU Common trade policy.
