Abstract
In this article are presented the color functions and their interpretations in various points of view: according to sex, psychology, nature, historical time, fashion. The meaning of colors is examined in some cultures and religions (American Indian, African, ancient Egypt, Islamic, in the Jewry and cabbala, in the Christianity, freemasonry, alchemy etc.). The article extensively represents the semantics in a number of frequently used colors and their application in the advertisements, illustrated with examples. The associations of these colors are presented in the text.
It’s paid special attention to the meaning and the functions of the colors as typical index signs for notation of sexuality and erotic in advertisement. A number of analyses of this kind of advertisements were made.
