Abstract
"Women and Modern Art Institutions" is a part from the chapter "Art Institutions, Their Formation end Significance for Modern Art in Bulgaria".
In the context of Women’s History Studies, Irina Genova examines the integration of women in the modernisation of the artistic life in Bulgaria during the first half of the twentieth century. Special attention is given to Women Artists Society exhibitions in the 1920s and 1930s, and to examples of women’s art critical writing and translations.
