Abstract
The topic of this article is to show the purpose of so-called wisdom texts in Ancient Egypt. Line 41 of the well-known Teaching of Ptahhotep shows that according to ancient Egyptian believe “no one is born already wise”. This conclusion predestines needs of some admonitions, which would be useful for a man during his instructions. This role in Ancient Egypt is played of wisdom texts. Nevertheless the wisdom texts are not just textbooks as book Kemet for example. They explain the cosmic harmony, justice, order and peace i.e. maat and shows the way for transforming the man to wise.
The article also discuss the terms for know, wise, knowledge (rx, siA, gm).
