Abstract

Abstract: Construction materials that build the furniture could have a major, complex negative effects with serious consequences on the environment. Bad choice of materials can be a cause of loss of biodiversity, depletion of resources, climate change, water shortages, endangering the health and contamination during the manufacturing process. Emphasising the importance of the product life cycle and upstream processes is as important as the choice of material, this is the way through which the materials can change the usual design in sustainable. The main purpose of the article is the analysis of the sustainability principles preceding life cycle of products in furniture design.
